Sponsored Video Lifebuoy Campaign : Help Child Reach 5

#This post unrelated with knitting at all.

Few days ago, someone sent me a commercial video. Of course then I opened it, more because I am curious.

At the beginning of the video, we can see a man named Gondappa who doing upside down walk with his hands.

In the middle of the video, a girl (which is not live near there), get curious and asked the old man in that group, what’s going on?

Not being answered, the old man take her to join the little journey.

The journey ended up in a temple, when that man then pray to God for his thankful of his 5th birthday’s son.
The girl then being more curious, what’s up with age 5?

At last the old man answered her; it means so much because this is the first son of Gondappa who can reach age five. His children usually died before that age because of diarrhea.

The girl became speechless and felling the empathy with all the people there.

***

I love good advertising, and I love this video so much. You could got the message just right.

As an Indonesian, we here already knew Lifebuoy. Since 10 years back, Lifebuoy through their commercial video and campaign. Actively encouraged their viewer and users (especially children) to always washing hands.

This is one of their latest campaign video, where they encouraged people at Thesgona -one of the city in India which has the highest diarrhea rate- to more aware to their sanitary. Like wash their hands.

So, I’d likely, also encouraged to you all, to watch this video and relay the message to encouraged people around us being more aware with sanitary, like washing hands, especially at remote areas in the world.

Book Review : Sweet Shawlettes

Back then, I never really think that I will buy a physical knitting book. On my head, there are so many knitting patterns that shared for free and can be treasured till you bored knitting (which I will never bored of course).

But it was until i found this book...

Author : Jean Moss
Pages : 144 - full colour
Publisher : Taunton Press Inc.

Without peek inside, I already fall in love with the book cover!! And suddenly wanted to find more about this book. Because of course, never judge something only by the cover.

So i search for some review about this book, peeking some of the inside pages, and satisfied enough for (at last) buy my first real physical knitting book : Sweet Shawlette by Jean Moss.

I bought the book from this online bookstore (because I always never had to worry about shipping when i buy book from this site). And after a while waiting, I at last really touch and open the book. And falling in love again... (*melt)

I'm not a kind of knitter who love knitting with tiny yarn and tiny needle. But of course like every knitter, I love and also want to knit some shawl too.

This book provide just perfect for knitter like me. No small lace. Very beautiful color play. Creative combination and placing of shape. Not always it had to be complicated, but also simple and yet still beautiful.
The book easy to understand, and I like how every pattern had a story behind it.

And what great is you will intrigued to try to knit every pattern of this book!
Like Gollum (one character at Lord of the Rings) says it's : Myyyy Precioussss.

Happy Knitting!!

*book review i made at this blog are not for promoting the book. I made simply because i like it and i actually have a copy of it at my hand :)

Rajut Free Knitting Pattern : Jungle Theme Baby Set

Hi there, ^ ^
I almost forgot to re-share these patterns right after i finished it.

The shoes and glove/mitten free knitting patterns were so perfect, because of the simplicity and cuteness!!
Unfortunately, the hat itself is the only one i cannot re-share, because i made it without pattern.

Material = Sweet Cotton Poyeng

Free Knitting Pattern used :
mitten = Bear n Panda hat n mitts
booties = Knit Monster baby booties

For the hat, actually you just have to make a simple stockinette hat and then adding the earflap. Then you can add the nose with duplicate stitch, and the eyes and mouth with embroidery. For the ears you can take from any other hat pattern, or you can just simply make it without pattern, just like i did. Or.. just use the panda hat pattern on the mitten pattern. ;)
